Wishing to Avoid Pregnancy
Using NFP to Avoid PregnancyA woman is fertile just few days each month. During the fertile phase of her cycle, a woman experiences characteristic changes which alert her that she has entered her time of fertility. The fertile signs are the same for everyone regardless of irregular cycles, premenopause or breastfeeding. Throughout much of a woman's cycle, the cervix is closed off to sperm trying to enter the uterus. During the fertile phase of her cycle, a path allowing sperm to enter the uterus forms. The NFP instructor teaches couples to recognize the signs of fertility and guidelines for avoiding pregnancy. Studies show that a woman's daily observations are as accurate as sophisticated laboratory tests.
We're Done Having Children!
Some couples have serious reasons not have to have any more children and rely on NFP to avoid pregnancy indefinitely. NFP is highly effective and reliable for couples in this situation. Often, these couples are tempted to be sterilized. However, sterilization is a permanent act of self-mutilization that often has repercussions on the couple's sexual relationship and serious side-effects.
Hysterectomies and tubal ligations can put a woman at risk for:
Severe bleeding, pelvic infection, ectopic pregnancy, perforation of aorta, bowel burns, depression, and lower libido. Women who have had tubal ligations report more cramping than they were accustomed to previously.
Vasectomies can put a man at risk for:
Thyroid disorders, joint disorders, heart disease, circulatory diseases, diabetes, psychological difficulties, kidney stones, anxiety, lower self-esteem, lower libido, and auto-immune disorders. Most men do not realize that they continue producing sperm even after a vasectomy. The sperm enter the bloodstream and the man is forced to use his own antibodies to fight them off causing him to become "auto-immune."
NFP is as Effective as "the Pill" Without the Side-Effects!
Nature's method is superior to any artificial method of birth control. NFP is as effective as "the Pill" but does not have any harmful side-effects. Many women are unaware that "the Pill" suppresses their natural hormones and their system is run by chemicals instead. Women on "the Pill" do not have a true period. Instead, the bleeding experienced is a result of chemical "withdrawal." Health problems associated with "the Pill" are serious and life-threatening. Cancer, strokes, heart attacks and blood clots can cause sudden death even among young users of "the Pill," Patch, Shot, vaginal ring and IUD. In addition, many women are put on "the Pill" without being informed that "the Pill" does not always successfully suppress ovulation but does reduces likelihood of implantation so if a baby is conceived it is chemically aborted.
